WIKKA — Five Skincare Essentials to Keep in Your Cabinet

At times when I am left with my imagination, my mind wonders how will it be if history’s greatest queens had to take a ‘what’s in my bag challenge’? A very funny thing to think. But imagine the possibilities. Queen Cleopatra still swearing by Rose or Princess Nerola saying how she keeps Neroli blossoms with her and the list can go on. The idea of associating women with organized behavior is not a new one. The fact that most women are always over-prepared for every situation makes us one-of-a-kind.

In my opinion, it’s not limited just to women, men are organized too. Hence such people can easily tell you what are the must-haves in an adverse situation because yes, they have prepared for it. But in the modern era, who has the time? Most of us binge-watch YouTube videos and leave it to other peoples’ skin to decide what product should we get for ourselves. A lack of time combined with lethargy and the fear of experimentation with new products leave us with very limited choices. This is why one can never go wrong with natural products. With nature comes an assurance of health.

With nature comes a promise that it’s goodness wrapped in skincare bottles. Today, thinking of Queens and rituals, let’s discover the natural products that we must have in our cabinets. A complete list of skincare essentials for all. You don’t need to panic if you run out of these. I have a lot of natural recipes in my blog that will help you make your own for the time being.

1. Moisturiser:

Don’t ever risk not having a moisturizer. It becomes really difficult for your skin if you do so. Always keep a moisturizer that matches the mood of your skin and helps you get the nourishment. Don’t have a moisturizer? You can nourish your skin with banana and honey for the time being. But it’s really important to have it in the long-term. Banana and honey can work alongside it as well. If you are looking for a moisturizer that has rejuvenating and skin-replenishing properties, indulge in Wikka’s Beauty Potion. A moisturizer with the goodness of everything natural and healthy.

2. Sunscreen:

Never stay without sunscreen. Protect your skin from the harmful UVA and UVB rays. Get a good SPF 15 — SPF 30 sunscreen and apply it every two hours if you are out. Apply a thick layer even on cloudy days. Want to take it a step further? Consume lycopene-rich products and stay away from sun-damage. I’ve elaborated this on The Skin and the Sunscreen-A bittersweet Affair blog. If you want to get your hands on products that contain the goodness of nature in every drop, choose Wikka’s Sun Protect.

3. Spatulas:

People forget that hygiene is the most basic thing required to have acne-free skin. You may buy a lot of fancy products but if you apply those with a dirty and oily finger, it’s no good. Always keep spare spatulas in case a product doesn’t come with one. If you don’t have one, try to wash your hands before applying the products.

*Wherever required, Wikka products (like Beauty Potion, Sun Protect) come with a spatula because we practice what we preach.

4. Sulphate-free face wash:

Invest in things that add health to your skin. That’s the reason why so many people are shifting to sulphate-free face washes these days. I’ve always been a hater of synthetic chemicals. One of the many reasons is that they strip off all the natural oils from the skin in the process of taking out the dirt. Save your skin, use a sulfate-free face wash. Try Wikka’s Lavender Ethral face wash and make the right choice.

5. Face Pack:

A product that is an all-rounder is a must-have. Always have a product that helps your skin glow, and look it’s best. Apply it to give your skin and give an extra radiance while nourishing and hydrating it. It’s important to remember that natural is the only way to go about it. Benefit from the goodness of Wikka’s Honey Avocado Face Pack. Rich in antioxidants and everything wonderful, this face pack rejuvenates and helps the skin recover after being exposed to UV rays. Honey and Avocado together fight all the problems that our skin might have.

I’ve said this earlier and I’ll say this again; make your skin a priority. Choose products that serve you the best. Don’t go by the trends. Choose products that are close to nature, health, and wellness. It’s also important to remember that our skin needs change from time to time. So, some days a gel-based moisturizer can do wonders to your skin and on some days it’s just not enough.

Remember to experiment and switch between the products. There is no one-size-fits-all policy when it comes to skincare. Each of us has our own hormonal pattern, our own stress management system, triggers, food habits, and many more things that affect skin health in ways we don’t know. Practice good hygiene along with having all the products you need. My advice will be to have everything while maintaining a healthy diet in the process. Have seasonal, local, traditional food. Relish it. There is no better way to keep yourself glowing than being happy. So, be happy too.
